Our client is seeking a personable and energetic Lodge Manager to take charge of their trendy boutique lodge in Hout Bay. The property attracts a youthful and international clientele, offering a relaxed yet design-conscious atmosphere. As Lodge Manager, you will report directly to the owners and manage a team of five. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the lodge, guest relations, team coordination, and ensuring a high standard of service and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy with strong computer skills and a knack for social media – capable of keeping the lodge’s online presence fresh, relevant and engaging. Basic maintenance know-how is also a great plus. You’ll need to be a proactive self-starter with a passion for hospitality and the ability to multitask with calm efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all lodge operations, including housekeeping, guest services, and basic maintenance
Coordinate and supervise a small team of staff (5 people)
Ensure exceptional guest experiences from check-in to check-out
Oversee stock control and supplier relations
Maintain accurate administrative and financial records
Update and manage social media accounts and online presence
Report directly to the property owners and implement their vision and standards
Minimum 2–3 years experience in a hospitality management role
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, online booking platforms, POS systems)
Basic understanding of maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms
Well-organised with an eye for detail and quality
A hands-on, guest-centric approach
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Hout Bay
Own transport preferred
Salary: R16,000 per month (live-in)
