Qualifications and skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
Minimum Grade 12 Certificate
Fleet management related diploma /degree advantageous
Three years’ work experience as a fleet manager
Valid Unendorsed Code EB drivers license (previously code 8 )
Intermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office)
Analytical skills
Communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ethical conduct
Interpersonal skills
Organising and planning skills
Reporting skills
Facilitation skills
Flexible availability required, including standby and overtime duties when necessary
Continuous visits to satellite stations
Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Compile daily vehicle availability - track down vehicles that went for repairs and follow up accordingly.
Responsible for the repair register by updating, compiling and sending to ORS Compliance QC Advisor.
Compile the Work Authorisation (WA) process by acquiring 3 quotes for repairs, and create a draft variation (WA) and send to ORS Compliance QC Advisor.
Review of the ORS KPI data, which dispatch works on, go through the comments and revise, audit the spreadsheet, check, and send to all the relevant internal stakeholders.
Submit insurance claims to the broker, communicate with the broker until the claim is finalised, and liaise with subcontractors regarding insurance excess.
Receive vehicle kilometers and report to the relevant service provider on the vehicle/s that must go for service.
Attend ORS weekly meetings and provide feedback on any vehicle repairs.
Audit the vehicle to ensure these are roadworthy and check the equipment (flags, cones, flashlights, etc) which must be used on the road.
Visit the stations and check the furniture (desks/chairs), biometrics, and ensure all is in order.
Communication with the Group OHS Practitioner regarding fire extinguishers in vehicles.
Complete monthly and quarterly vehicle audits and discuss with the ORS team and all other relevant stakeholders.
Manage the registration and licensing of vehicles.
Complete regular review of fleet procedures and policies, ensuring that the documents include the best practices for fleet management.
Investigate any damage to a fleet vehicle and driving complaints, and make recommendations to the Operations manager for the action that is required in the event where negligence has been identified.
Complete ad hoc audit of vehicles to determine the condition of the vehicle and status of the logbook.
Monitor driver behaviour and abuse of the company vehicle.
Stand in as ORS Area manager as and when required.
