Junior Bookkeeper - UK experience essential

We are looking for a junior bookkeeper with at least 2 years of UK experience. You will join our team in Johannesburg and work closely with our UK-based colleagues and clients.

The role will be fully office-based for the first three months to support a smooth onboarding process, with the option to transition to a hybrid working arrangement thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping
• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Financial Reporting
• UK VAT Returns
• Client Portfolio Management
• Month-end and Year-end Processes
• Reconciliation of Accounts (Bank, Supplier, Customer)
• Use of Accounting Software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• An understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Professional services experience required
• SAIPA/ACCA qualified with a demonstrable track record of accounts experience in an accountancy practice
• Excellent technical knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax and VAT
• Ability to perform to a high technical and professional standard
• Minimum 2 years of UK experience
