Job Title
Delivery SpecialistAmadeus GTD Southern Africa is hiring and have an exciting position available for a Delivery Specialist, in the Delivery Management Middle East and Africa Team.
Web services understanding and previous experience is an essential aspect of the role.
The position will be based in Johannesburg, Fourways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Utilize JIRA for project tracking, issue management, and workflow optimization.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration, working closely with implementers, commercial teams, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks, proactively resolving roadblocks before they impact delivery.
- Improve delivery processes, implementing best practices for Agile or Kanban methodologies.
- Facilitate communication between teams and customers, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Foster a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and client expectations.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management, stakeholders, and customers.
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of software projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a strong understanding of basic developer knowledge to effectively communicate with technical teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or similar role in a software development environment.
- Proficiency in using JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
- Good technical understanding of Web Services and Robotic tools.
- Knowledge of Amadeus GDS products & solutions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Basic knowledge of software development principles and practices (incl. Web services & Robotic tools).
- Some project manager qualification would be an advantage.

Experience
- At least 5-10 years’ experience.
- Education: University degree in Business, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Travel, Industry knowledge and GDS knowledge is essential
- Good understanding of Amadeus products, services and the industry, would be at an advantage
- The role itself requires flexibility in terms of hours of work etc.
