Process Laboratory Supervisor

Job Advert Summary

To supervise the Process Quality Laboratory (dayshift) in order to ensure that potable, process, raw material, and chemical samples are taken and analysed accurately and timeously and data captured and authorized in LIMS, to verify production data and Laboratory instrumentation and recommend corrective action to the relevant section. Implement and maintain SANS 241, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHS Act 18001.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with mathematics and Science plus 8-year lab experienceNational Diploma qualification in Analytical Chemistry or Microbiology, plus 2-year lab experience
• Tertiary qualification in Water Care plus four-year lab experience
• 4-year laboratory experience plus 2 years’ tertiary qualifications in Analytical Chemistry

• Basic Chemistry knowledge

• Knowledge of ISO systems
• Basic Knowledge of Microbiology
• Lab ware LIMS knowledge
• Computer literate
• Driver’s license

Primary Duties

• Operations - Provide Water Quality analytical services to Operations Department.
• Human resources management - Recruit, develop and motivate a team that enables the section to achieve its operational objectives and employment equity.
• Leadership - Give leadership to section.
• Financial management - Provide and manage the financial aspects of the section.
• SHEQ - Implement and maintain all SHEQ activities.
• Information management - Manage information and knowledge in section.
• Customer Services and Marketing - Manage the customer and marketing services of the section.
• Managerial - Conduct managerial/leadership activities.
