- Minimum of 3-5 years of practical site experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, earthworks, bridges, storm water, sewer, water reticulation, bulk services, concrete structures).
- Demonstrable experience in setting out, quality control, site supervision, and reporting.
- Familiarity with various civil engineering construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex civil engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with relevant South African construction legislation and standards (e.g., SANS, OHSA, CIDB).
- Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) or working towards it (e.g., Candidate Engineer) is highly advantageous.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction processes, and surveying techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to diagnose site issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Meticulous approach to setting out, quality checks, and record-keeping.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Clear and concise verbal and written communication for effective interaction with site teams, management, and stakeholders. Ability to provide clear instructions.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a project team, coordinate with various disciplines, and build strong working relationships.
- Time Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic site environment.
