Purpose of Role: As the General Manager of the Motion Metrics Africa business unit you will captain the team while being a critical player in it. It requires you to have direct account management and business development responsibility of a specific sub-region in Africa, spending a significant portion of your time on mine site, helping our customers solve their problems with our technology. You will have ultimate responsibility for Motion Metrics Africa reaching its revenue and footprint growth targets, working closely with the sales, support, and operations teams you'll be leading to execute the strategic initiatives you will have a part in shaping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Sales: Business develop and account manage your own specific region within Africa, leveraging your technical acumen and problem solving capabilities to solve your customers' challenges using Motion Metrics solutions.
  • Revenue and P&L Accountability: Work with the sales team and the Sales Director to set the yearly budget, perform quarterly forecast updates, and be accountable for achieving those projections on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Operational Management: Manage the Motion Metrics Africa people and initiative projects to achieve the business targets set out.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Technical Qualification - Ideally with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Business / Management qualification - Ideally tertiary qualifications in commerce, or management. An MBA would be advantageous.
  • Experience managing teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Experience working within the digital/software solution space in industrial applications. Ideally delivering operational efficiency gains to the blasting/mining/processing teams on mine site would be advantageous.
