Operations Manager

A VACANCY EXISTS FOR THE POSITION OF OPERATIONS MANAGER PLANT 2 IN ROSSLYN

Primary purpose of the job

To carry prime responsibility/accountability for managing the Press Part Manufacturing in all its facets, including the support functions required in the plant, in order to ensure that customer requirements are fulfilled through cost effective resource utilisation, schedules and quality.

Key Performance Areas

Take overall responsibility for the operations management of Plant 2 as a satellite Plant to Plant 1. Manage all production functions to ensure that targets are met according to safety, quality standards and production requirements.
Manage all support functions to ensure that targets are met to achieve safety, quality, production and cost targets.
Drive relevant shopfloor management routines that are key success factors of a press shop.
Ensure adequate resources are available.
Manage performance of subordinates.

Technical Knowledge Required

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Operational Management, Technology Management or Engineering or Production Management
• Min 3 - 5 years quality background within the automotive industry
• Min 8 years' Press Shop experience (relevant press technology- car body surface /structural components)
• Min 10 years' supervisory experience in the automotive industry
• Min 2 years' experience in tool & jig manufacturing/maintenance
• New project management knowledge with regards to tool approval and commissioning processes
• Min 3 years’ experience in engaging and managing a very demanding OEM customer years metrology experience
