Job Description
This role’s core function is the provision of accurate and timeous Internal reporting, Group reporting, External reporting, Tax reporting, Board reporting and Compliance related reporting
This is a Middle Management position focused on Financial Reporting.
Position Overview
Specific Role Responsibilities
Internal Reporting:
- Preparation of Flash files
- Preparation of Management accounts, in conjunction with Reporting and Operations Finance Manager
- Preparation of Budget and Forecast review files
Group Reporting:
- Hyperion Reporting. This includes actuals, forecasting & budgets
- Review and upload of BEE Report, in conjunction with Reporting and Operations Finance Manager
- Co-ordination of monthly and Quarterly Sustainability reporting, in conjunction with Reporting and Operations Finance Manager
- Work with the internal tax team to ensure accurate submission of tax packs and timeous response to and resolution of queries
External Reporting:
- Preparation of Board Materials
Tax Reporting:
- Co-ordinate accurate submission of Tax Packs to the Tax Department
- Work with the internal tax team to ensure timeous response to and resolution of queries
Compliance Related Reporting:
- CSA /RCSA reports – Ensure completion of relevant reports across the dealer network. Review of these reports and flagging any potential risk items to management
- FIC – Developing protocols with the Finance Exec, RFMs and FMs to ensure that monthly FIC reporting is timely and FIC documentation is in order, FIC bi-annual questionnaires are answered and FIC RMCP reviewed annually with Finance Executive. Work with FMs to ensure that employee sanction screening and KYC requirements are met. Consolidation of FIC reports
- Deal File scoring audit reviews
- Monitor and report on ethics compliance across all business activities
- Work with the internal and external independent group audit team. This includes facilitating the provision relevant documentation to support the audit procedures, assisting the audit teams with any queries and maintaining a professional relationship with the independent auditor
- Any other reporting that may be required
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferable B. Com. Accounting or studying towards
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Skills and Personal Attributes
- The ability to analyse large sets of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies.
- A keen eye for accuracy and attention to details, ensuring all financial data and reports are precise and error-free.
- Ability to handle large datasets, clean data, and use advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for financial reporting.
- Understanding of Financial Regulations and Standards: Knowledge of accounting standards like GAAP, IFRS, and relevant tax codes.
- The ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports tailored for different audiences, presentng complex financial data in a digestible manner (e.g., senior management, external auditors, regulatory bodies).
- The ability to document processes and procedures for reporting, ensuring consistency and auditability.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data and reporting processes.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, especially during busy reporting periods
- Multitasking: The ability to manage multiple reporting tasks at once without compromising quality.
- Understanding of Compliance Requirements: Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for different jurisdictions (e.g., tax filings, and financial disclosures).
- Adherence to strong ethical standards in reporting and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Ability to work with various departments (e.g., finance, distribution, legal, tax) to gather necessary data for reports.
- Experience in working with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and senior leadership to ensure reports meet all necessary requirements.
- Keeping Up with Regulatory Changes: Staying informed about changes in financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Continuously seeking ways to improve reporting processes and systems for greater efficiency.
