Role Purpose

Craft and deliver on sales strateg ies to increase sales / new business volumes and drive key business outcomes.

Requirements

Formal Qualification

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • Bachelors' Degree in Commerce or Business Management
  • Relevant legislative/regulatory exams or qualifications
  • Financial planning qualification

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in life insurance sales and distribution (essential)
  • 2-3 years' people management experience (essential)
  • Leads management experience (essential)
  • Business process optimisation experience (essential)
  • Call centre or client sales/service experience (essential)

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry

Duties & Responsibilities

INTERNAL PROCESS

  • Manage a team of FSCA registered professionals to achieve monthly sales targets by implementing and monitoring sales measures.
  • Give input to and implement the sales strategy to increase product uptake, encourage cross selling and enable product engagement.
  • Keep abreast with trends, legislation and best practices within the sales and financial planning industry to contribute to optimising the function.
  • Give input into the revenue targets for the products and setting key performance indicators. Conduct industry benchmarking to inform quality standards and initiatives within the sales environment.
  • Develop, oversee and monitor the implementation quality assurance assessments, reporting processes and policies in line with business, compliance advice and client requirements.
  • Provide direct supervision and coaching to employees, ensuring they meet Fit and Proper and performance expectations.
  • Understand key business metrics and establish metrics to monitor and report on the effectiveness of business processes and practices in area of responsibility.
  • Setup and report regularly on the team’s performance, ensuring performance is in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop client retention strategies with the enablement team that focus on engagements that encourage clients to retain their product(s).
  • Analyse client retention trends and make recommendations to enhance products, service offering or service delivery to the client based on feedback.
  • Enable your team by understanding all systems used in the business, including their functionality, impact, and how to optimise their use for performance.
  • Enhance system capability and usability within your team to drive sales effectiveness and productivity.
  • Provide support to marketing and sales campaigns to ensure optimal uptake and influence of these initiatives.
  • Manage the selection and distribution of appropriate leads in line with campaigns requirements within the agreed timeframes.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the PFP (Pay-for-Performance) model, monitoring feasibility, performance alignment, and ensuring agent understanding.

  • Deliver on service level agreements made with clients and internal and external stakeholders to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
