About the team:
This role sits within the Risk Team, which is responsible for the identification, assessment, management, mitigation, monitoring and reporting of risks associated with Luno’s operations.
The role in a nutshell:
As a Risk Analyst, you’ll work closely with and be managed by the Lead Risk Analyst to support the development and implementation of risk management processes across the organisation. You’ll help assess strategic-, financial-, operational- and compliance risks, assist in the enhancement of our risk frameworks, and support teams across Luno in mitigating identified risks. As a Risk Analyst, you’ll work closely with and be managed by the Lead Risk Analyst to support the development and implementation of risk management processes across the organisation. You’ll help assess strategic-, financial-, operational- and compliance risks, assist in the enhancement of our risk frameworks, and support teams across Luno in mitigating identified risks. Your mission will be:
- Supporting the Lead Risk Analyst in maintaining and enhancing the Luno Enterprise Risk Management Framework (“ERMF”) and associated documentation (e.g., Fleet/Wing Risk Registers, control libraries, etc.).
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify, assess and document risks across Fleets/Wings.
- Assisting with risk workshops, interviews and other engagement activities to gather risk information from Fleets/Wings.
- Monitoring operational incidents and losses, and supporting incident analysis and reporting.
- Researching emerging risks in the crypto and fintech space and contributing insights to Fleet/Wing discussions.
- Participating in the development of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Assisting in preparing risk reports for senior management and governance forums.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards and best practices in risk management.
- Documenting and communicating changes to risk-related policies and supporting Risk training initiatives.
- Partnering with and supporting the Information Security Team to review processes in line with the company’s risk appetite and ERMF.
- Enthusiastic about risk management, with a strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, or related roles.
- A relevant qualification in risk management, audit, compliance, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A work permit for South Africa if you are not a South African citizen.
