Reporting to the Operations Excellence Manager, the Retail Optimization Lead is accountable for the end to end project management of all new projects in Sales and Opex & completion of Wet Stock Management (WSM) at all Retail Sites nationally. The receipt, storage and dispensing of fuels is inherently a high-risk activity and therefore, the successful management of fuel stock is a critical within bp retail operations. The management of fuel stocks at retail sites (including fuel reconciliation) is varied between the different ESA countries and execution in South Africa market is of importance to the value chain of retail business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead the project plan and assist in assigning actions to ensure that milestones are completed in accordance with the project plan
Assist project lead in ensuring the project is executed in line with the CVP process and appropriate approvals are obtained where required
Lead all the work streams (Sales Operations, Logistics, Supply, Assets, GBS, I&TS, Finance and Pricing) to identify all project risks and develop risk mitigations
Ensure all risks are updated and maintained in the risk register and led with risk owners
Provide updates on project progress to internal stakeholders and compile monthly Governance Board packs
Maintain updated records of all project related documents and reports
Coordinate and integrate work stream activities to achieve key outputs
Conduct joint site visits with engineers, technical authorities and service providers to ensure understanding of technical challenges unique to site and to reach alignment on proposed solutions
Prepare budget estimates and draft an EFM for required scope of works at remaining sites requiring wet stock management infrastructure
Coordinate ATG equipment installation activities at sites with contractors, site managers and HSSE personnel
Ensure full HSSE compliance by contractors/ service providers during execution activities at site
Identify areas of improvement pertaining to systems operations and consistency of sales and inventory data
Manage the Onsite 360 discrepancies and resolve to improve operations with Sales Teams and stakeholders ATG Alarm Analysis, HSSE support
Analyze and compile data into reports which feed into monthly HSSE performance reporting
Identify trends in data and engage with internal and external stakeholders to gain insights into potential root causes
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent experience, preference to mechanical
Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail operations.
Must have demonstrated an ability to work both independently and in a team. • Good understanding of Retail Strategy, including Sales, Logistics and Supply
