Investment Consultant

Job Purpose

The Investment Consultant / Solutions Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, enhancing the client experience and investment consulting efforts in both an advisory and implemented (DFM) institutional investment services. This includes developing a deep understanding of client needs and translating those into actionable insights for our investment research team.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for staying up to date with house views and investment insights, and for effectively packaging, communicating, and coordinating the implementation of recommended solutions and research output across various target markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head of IPS in building a competitive and scalable institutional investment consulting and DFM propositions.
• Engage with institutions and IFAs to unpack and evaluate their financial needs and goals, including long-and short-term return objectives, risk profiles, liquidity requirements, reporting and developing tailored proposals as guided by the consulting process.
• Prepare and present RFPs, client documents and report backs and investment proposals.
• Set-up and coordinate client meetings, workshops, maintain key records, take minutes,and manage follow-ups.
• Package and present outputs from the research team, including return objectives and benchmark settings, risk tolerance and budgeting, asset allocation optimisation, capital markets assumptions and tactical asset allocation views, manager research and ratings, portfolio construction and risk management, currency risk hedging, performance and risk analysis, and fee analysis.
• Meaningful participation and generation of ideas as a member of the IPS team and broader investment team.
• Monitor and provide regular performance and risk updates to clients and prospects.
• Facilitate efficient client onboarding and timely implementation of portfolio recommendations.
• Stay up to date with market trends, relevant regulations and investment opportunities.
• Develop a thorough understanding of our various offerings and services, including CIS unit trusts, model portfolio ranges, bespoke portfolios and LISP platform solutions.
• Draft and review investment policy statements, SLAs, agreements, and related documentation.
• Support the distribution team with investment consulting reports, dashboards and by attending prospecting meetings.
• Conduct ad hoc client and market research as may be required of by senior leadership and investment research team.
• Contribute thought-leadership content to financial media.
• Assist with various investment consulting initiative and issues.
