We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Manufacturing Manager to lead to join our production team at a fast-paced cosmetic manufacturing company.
This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for continuous improvement, has a passion for brand consistency, and strive to delivering exceptional products.
Experience:
The successful incumbent must possess at least five (5) years’ experience in a managerial role within cosmetic manufacturing or a related field.

Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (chemistry, chemical engineering, engineering, manufacturing or related field)
- Strong knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements and quality management systems (with specific reference to ISO 22716 (GMP for Cosmetics))
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing process for skincare and colour cosmetics, including compounding.
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing schedules to meet demand forecasts and delivery deadlines.
- Formulation Scale-Up: Drive successful formulation scale-up initiatives, ensuring seamless transition of lab-developed formulations to large-scale manufacturing while maintaining product integrity, stability, and performance.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement efficient mixing, homogenization, and emulsification techniques for upscaled batches.
- Establish and meticulously monitor key production performance metrics (e.g., yield, OEE, waste reduction, throughput). Proactively analyse data to identify deviations, implement timely corrective and preventative actions, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Manage raw material inventory to ensure optimal levels, minimize waste, and prevent stockouts.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing
- Equipment Selection & Validation: Oversee the selection, validation, calibration, and optimal utilization of critical manufacturing equipment, including high-shear mixers, vacuum homogenizers, and RO water systems, to ensure batch consistency, quality, and operational reliability. Identify and evaluate new technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure stringent adherence to regulatory standards - ISO 22716 (GMP for Cosmetics) throughout all manufacturing stages, fostering a culture of quality and compliance.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Address formulation challenges such as viscosity shifts, phase separation, and stability concerns during manufacturing.
- Collaboration with R&D & Production Teams: Work closely with the lab and production staff to ensure smooth transitions from pilot/validation batches to full-scale runs.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all necessary quality control measures, including microbial analysis, environmental monitoring (swabbing), and finished product testing, are performed to validate upscaled formulations and maintain product safety and quality.
- Efficiency & Cost Management: Optimize batch sizes, raw material usage, and processing times to enhance productivity.
- Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to minimize waste and storage costs while meeting production needs.
