Role
We have a fantastic opportunity in our team based in South Africa. This is a challenging role where you will be involved in producing cost estimations, considering the production cost requirements, all related costs and margins.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing cost estimations, considering the production cost requirements, all related costs and margins.
- Responsible for generating final and complete quotations/tenders for presentation to clients.
- Required to have in-depth understanding of all cost items and variables influencing pricing.
- Review and report on project costs variances and improve costing model.
- Project Management and Project Planning
- Oversee and update the cost estimation processes and procedures, considering the production cost requirements, reliability, accuracy and timeousness of production costing processes as well as all related costs and margins.
- Produce and generate quotations/tenders to be presented to clients. Determine the cost items and variables influencing pricing.
- Review and report on project costs variances and improve costing model
- Review all rental costs and implement a saving strategy on equipment, labor and tools
- Analysing requirement documents, blueprints/drawings and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the projects
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors and negotiate a reasonable cost.
- Managing tenders from vendors and contractors
- Using tendering data to prepare detailed a cost analysis
- Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compiling and recording actual costs versus the tendered prices and compile cost reports
- Learning & Growth – Train and upskill team members as required by manager.
- Financial (Budget) –. Accountable for the application of an accurate project costing model. Ensuring efficient and optimal charging out of projects and thereby reducing financial risks.
- Project planning- Materials, Manpower, Material and labour transportation and accommodations
- Assist by Overseeing and managing precast and ready shape department
- Project close-outs and meetings.
- Customer – achieving internal customer satisfaction objectives by ensuring that all cost estimation activities are executed accurately and timeously in terms of the standards and requirements.
- Meeting and achieving all applicable HSEQ SOPs for the Area.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role
- Minimum Qualified AAT \ Part Qualified ACCA \ CIMA, but ideally CIMA Finalist
- Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics
- Typical profile as Plant Controller
- Understand industrial processes and costing principles
- Reasonable understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), practices, standards, laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle complex financial information
- Ability to create a strong bonds with other people, inspires trust and confidence in both his peers, senior, and external partners
- Demonstrate good communication skills to convey information
- Have a keen eye for details, ability to manage multi tasks / project and meet tight deadlines, is analytical and highly organized
- Work comfortably in a highly collaborative setting, have a confident and outgoing personality,
- Proficient in financial software as IFS/SAP
- Strong IT skills especially in Excel and Google suite package
- Be able to continuously look for improvements in reporting
- Strong relationship builder; team worker
- Self-motivated, curious & questioning
- Ability to work under pressure
- Conscientious and able to meet deadlines with consistently high- quality output
