We have an exciting opportunity for an SAIPA Article Clerk role.

The role
Overall, the job description for a SAIPA Article Clerk is challenging and varied, and the successful candidate will need to be highly analytical, detail-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure. The role provides an excellent opportunity for professional development and career growth within the accounting profession.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
· Assisting with financial reporting and work closely with senior accountants or auditors to prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
· Conducting independent reviews and being involved in reviewing various client accounts and ensuring that the financial statements presented are in line with IFRS for SME.
· Bookkeeping and data capturing and processing financial transactions in the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data.
· Taxation - assisting with tax compliance and completing tax returns.
· Conducting research and provide insights on financial and accounting matters.
· Client management- interact with clients, responding to queries, and building relationships with them.
· Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
· Ad hoc tasks - assist with various ad hoc tasks, such as project management, business advisory services, and other administrative tasks as required.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The successful candidate will:

· Completed B.Com/B.Compt degree – SAIPA / Accounting Field
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English, pro-active and willing to take responsibility.
· Analytical with ability to work well under pressure.
· Diligent, deadline driven and focussed.
· Administratively inclined
· Good theoretical and technical background in Accounting, Auditing and Tax.
· Willing, interested and able to continue technical growth to become an industry leader in any of these fields.
· Keen interest in Financial Year End duties such as preparing Annual Financial Statements for clients.
· Must be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team

A new laptop, second screen and appropriate headset will be provided.

The successful candidate is entitled to join a medical aid scheme approved by the company after being employed for 3 months. Should the employee join the company’s medical aid scheme, the company will contribute R200 per month to the medical aid premium. The R200 per month contribution will form part of the per month cost to company.
