Thorburn Security Solutions is hiring a Security Systems Specialist - ESS to lead the maintenance of IP-based CCTV, access control, and physical security systems. You'll ensure system uptime, perform repairs, support installations, oversee major projects, manage documentation, and integrate software platforms to meet client needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Operations

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to uphold operational standards.
• Execute corrective maintenance tasks as needed.
• Support minor installations and oversee major installation projects.
• Maintain and update system documentation (as-built drawings, diagrams, etc.).
• Integrate software platforms per customer requirements.

Project & Site Management

• Plan, execute, and evaluate daily tasks with precision.
• Ensure quality control throughout project lifecycles.
• Assist with estimating during plan reviews.
• Conduct site assessments and manage timelines (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Forecast vs. actual performance tracking.
• Coordinate team schedules and resource utilization.

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate documentation: job cards, overtime sheets, logbooks.
• Communicate issues and coordinate activities across teams.
• Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards for quality, environmental, and health & safety.
• Participate in SLA meetings and ensure quality control.

Sales & Commercial Support

• Handle all sales under R50k with a monthly target of R150k.
• Process quotations and maintain accurate sales records.
• Support sales forecasting and scheduling.

Miscellaneous Duties

• • Collect stock and manage on-site inventory.
  • Dispose of equipment in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• A relevant technical qualification or diploma is highly advantageous.
• 5+ years of technical experience in a technician role
• Proven track record in project delivery under pressure
• Experience in the security services industry at a senior level
• Strong fault-finding and IP networking skills
• Risk management and stock control experience
• Ability to train and supervise in a project environment
