About the Role

As a Test Automation Engineer in the Capitec Connect team, you’ll play a critical role in enabling quality at speed. You’ll design and implement both manual and automated test scenarios across the SDLC, with a focus on delivering clean, secure, and reliable software to market. This is a dynamic, high-energy environment where change is constant, quality is paramount, and collaboration is key. You’ll work within a team that values adaptability, problem-solving, and ownership, while helping to drive the success of Capitec’s exciting telecom banking product.

Our Ideal candidate has:

A completed qualification in software testing (ISTQB Foundation preferred)

3–5 years’ experience in automation testing (framework design, scripting, execution)

Proficiency with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, BrowserStack, Postman, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab Solid understanding of the full SDLC, integration/regression testing, and test case design

Exposure to API, performance, or security testing

Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a quality-first mindset

A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Education (Ideal or Preferred)
  • Software Testing - Foundation Level through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB)
