What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talented credit controller. Experience in credit control or finance: Proven background in managing accounts receivable, chasing payments, and setting credit limits.

What do we expect from the candidate?

• Policy enforcement: Upholding your credit terms and escalating issues when needed.
• Customer relationship management: Balancing firmness with diplomacy to maintain good client rapport.
• Reporting and insights: Regular updates on outstanding debts, risks, and trends.
• Problem-solving: Proactively resolving disputes or payment delays.
• Timely collections: Keeping DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) low and cash flow healthy.

The key responsibilities:

• Allocate payments to debtor’s accounts.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding payments.
• Arranging payment collection.
• Assist with emailing invoices, credit notes, statements etc.
• Opening of customer accounts on Syspro.
• Maintaining and changing customers’ details on Syspro.
• Filing debtors’ adjustments and deposits.
• Assist Accountant when required.
• Reprinting invoices when required.
• Updating of old credit applications send new applications to customers.
• Manage outstanding deposit list daily.
• Prepared credit notes when required.
• Managing accounts on hold.
• Managing accounts handed over to debt collectors.
• Follow all the rules, SOP’s and regulations of the company.
• Report any incidents / accidents and non-conformance to manager immediately.
• Follow any reasonable instruction.
• Loading and capturing of Payments on FNB.
• Assisting Manager with adhoc duties.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping.
• Strong financial background.
• Syspro experience will be beneficial.
• Computer literate.
• Good interpersonal, communication and telephone skills.
• Proficiency in Business English.
• Experience in Debtors.

• Analytical mindset: Able to assess credit risk, interpret financial data, and make sound decisions.
• Attention to detail: Accuracy is key when handling invoices, reconciliations, and reports.
• Resilience and professionalism: Especially when handling difficult conversations or overdue accounts.
• Team player: Able to collaborate with sales, finance, and customer service teams.
