Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) competent individuals to render administrative support services.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation
Appropriate administrative experience; Experience in the following: Office or Business Administration, Immovable Asset Management or similar corporate department or business unit.
Key Performance Areas
Render general clerical support services, including: Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data (line function); Update asset related databases and registers; Keep and maintain the electronic filing system; Handle routine enquiries; Make photocopies, prepare correspondence, distribute documents/packages and keep a document in-out-register; Render personnel, SCM and Financial Administration clerical support services.
Competencies
Knowledge of clerical duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computer and collecting statistics. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service. (e.g. GIAMA, PSA); Knowledge of working procedures in terms of the working environment. Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Interpersonal/listening; Typing/MS computer literacy (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint); Organising/record keeping; Analytical thinking/problem solving; Negotiation; Ability to work well in a team; Ability to work under pressure; Self-motivated and reliable.
Remuneration
R 228 321– R 268 950 per annum (Salary level 5)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews and a practical on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department. Applicants from relevant local communities will receive preferences.
