Job Purpose

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to ensure an integrated, effective and efficient managementof supply chain relationships within the department.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 1 year experience in systems support and/or supply chain management; A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence. NB People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.


Recommendation

Working knowledge of information systems and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements pertaining to Supply Chain Management; Experience in a Compliance, Supply Chain Management or Governance environment.

Key Performance Areas

Administrative support, Logistical arrangements, Events coordination and Stakeholder engagement – provide support and central contact point of coordination between SCM, external and internal stakeholders during Supply Chain Management events for Governance and Demand Management; Coordinate within the Chief Directorate:SCM and/ prepare inputs to strategic documents, systems improvement, systems development, operational or process improvements or submissions to stakeholders, monitor compliance to requirements and deadlines, including record keeping and reporting; Monitor key identified supplier’s relationships with respect to cost , deliverables, communication and meeting coordination, including recordkeeping and reporting; Review, monitor, and report on the formal process for improving system capabilities, reporting mechanisms, and the streamlining of Supply Chain Management (SCM). This includes coordinating interactions, raising awareness, sharing information, and aligning operations, systems, processes, and meetings with Branches and within the Chief Directorate: SCM; Project management and Contract management in relation to Supply Chain Management systems, Monitoring of spending, including contract renewals, Statistical reporting Bid applications, Compliance verification and Market Analyses; Ensure development and continuous improvements as well as a repository of documents, presentations and Audio visual materials in use by SCM, during events and stakeholder interactions; Assist with market or stakeholder engagement sessions by linking Demand Management with Governance and maintain a register with a repository of documents during engagements.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; Relevant legislative and regulatory requirements pertaining to Supply Chain Management; Stakeholder engagement. Skills needed: Advanced Computer skills (Systems, word processing and numerical); Verbal and written language skills; Planning and organising; Conflict resolution, Problem-solving and decision-making.

Remuneration

R 308 154 - R 362 994 per annum (Salary level 7)

Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
