Position: Radar Electronic Engineer

Incomar is looking for a motivated individual to perform detailed Radar design and analysis for modules used in Radars applications. This includes firmware & software design, testing and integration of the hardware into the various systems and platforms.

The post will also include responsibilities to integrate, test and calibrate Radar systems.

Required Qualifications

• B.Eng - Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Computer Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
  
  

Required Skills And Experience (or a Subset Thereof)

• 3-15 years of Radar development experience.
• Knowledge of Radar Algorithms and Modulation Schemes.
• Knowledge or experience in Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
• Knowledge and experience in firmware development (VHDL & Xilinx devices preferred).
• Knowledge or experience in RF electronics.
• Hardware testing & debugging skills.
• Product development and system engineering skills involving all aspects of the "V" life cycle and the system engineering management process.
• Configuration and product lifecycle management skills.
• Proficient in required design & simulation packages (e.g. Vivado, Libero, MWO-VSS, MATLAB, LT-SPICE, MS-Visio).
• Proficient in MS Office.
  
  

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Military, Defence Industry and/or Avionics development experience preferable.
• Knowledge or experience in the RTCA DO-254 design process.
• Knowledge or experience in hardware environmental qualification to military and civilian standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, etc).
• System safety engineering skills.
• Logistical support engineering skills.
• Exposure to software version control tools
  
  

Responsibilities

• Perform Radar system integration, testing and calibration activities.
• Perform Radar Algorithm & DSP design.
• Analyse recorded Radar measurements.
• Performing firmware design activities, architecture, coding, simulation, synthesis and place & route design aspects.
• Conducting firmware development according to the "V" product development life cycle and system engineering management process.
• Performing hardware / software integration and debugging.
• Writing and maintaining specifications related to development activities.
• Writing and maintaining test and verification documentation.
• Writing and maintaining design and interface documentation
• Perform, execute and document electronic / sub-system compliance, verification, validation and qualification activities.
• Configuration and version management electronic system, sub-system and item designs.
• Simulation, data analysis and report writing applicable to allocated tasks.
• Ensuring that customer requirements and applicable standards are met.
• Planning and executing tasks within agreed to budgets and timescales.
• Contribute towards the improvement and elaboration of firmware design and development processes & tools.
• Apply sound ethical principles.
