Accountant: Signature Brands at Famous Brands

Introduction

Reporting to the Financial Manager. Meeting tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. Be the key contact for year-end audit and annual and month report preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparation of Monthly management accounts.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
• Prepare monthly balance sheets reconciliations and commentary thereon.
• Prepare monthly Journal entries.
• Prepare capital investment requests and maintain fixed asset register
• Preparation of monthly sales information statistics, gross profit analysis.
• Assist FM with budget and forecasting activities.
• Assist with daily cashbook requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance the workflow of all Signature brands.
• Preparation of year end audit files
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  
  

Desired Experience & Qualification

Formal Education

• BCom Accounting;
• Previous Restaurant Accounting and FMCG environment experience will be an advantage
• Advanced Excel skills essential
• Minimum 5-year plus working experience in an accounting role
  
  

Experience

• Sage X3 proficiency preferred and experience with Sage X3 Financial Reporter an advantage (advanced experience with another ERP essential if no Sage X3 experience)
• IFRS experience
