Job Purpose
The Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide administrative support within the Directorate: Pollution and Chemicals Management.
Minimum Requirements
Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification)Recommendation
Office administration experience.
Key Performance Areas
Provide general office management and personnel adminstrative support within the Directorate; Perform secretariate functions for internal and external meetings; Logistical arrangements, minute-taking, filing and distribution of meeting documentation; Provide financial administration support including asset inventory management; Coordination of procurement processes; Update and maintain various databases related to Directorate and line functions.
Competencies
A good understanding of database management.
Skills needed: Computer literacy particularly related to Microsoft Software packages; Written and verbal communication; Meticulous record keeping; Organising and planning; Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently; Problem-solving.
Remuneration
R 228 321- R 268 950 per annum (Salary Level 5)
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing allowance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
