The Opportunity
The global Naspers/Prosus finance team plays a vital role in supporting the Group’s operational and strategic decision-making processes. By fostering strong business partnerships, we provide valuable insights into the Group's performance and growth. Our scope extends across global accounting and control matters, regulatory compliance, and delivering legal, tax, and financial support. Additionally, we assist businesses during contract negotiations by offering crucial financial deal expertise.
At the heart of our operations is the Consolidation Team, which oversees the comprehensive Naspers/Prosus Group consolidation using the financial reporting system, Hyperion Financial Management. This team ensures the accurate consolidation of actuals, forecasts, and budget results, providing integral support to internal and external reporting teams. Currently, Naspers/Prosus offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consolidation Specialist to join this dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the preparation of the Group’s annual and interim financial results while facilitating robust monthly financial reporting to empower key decision-makers within the organization.
As a Senior Consolidation Specialist within the Group Finance's Consolidation Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial narrative of Naspers/Prosus. Your responsibilities will include delivering accurate and timely financial results, managing high-value and complex tasks, mentoring junior colleagues, and spearheading ad hoc projects aligned with strategic objectives. This position, based in Rosebank, Johannesburg, allows you to collaborate closely with the Senior Consolidation Lead and contribute meaningfully to the Group's success.

Morning Focus: Start your day preparing consolidated financial results for Naspers and Prosus Groups. With a focus on accuracy, you’ll handle monthly actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
Accuracy and Insight: Review and reconcile financial statements, addressing and resolving variances between actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
Collaborative Reporting Tasks: Engage in rotational consolidated reporting activities, including: - Preparing group cash flow and equity statements - Supporting segmental and equity accounting - Coordinating IFRS 2 accounting with the valuations team
Complex Consolidation: Lead complex consolidation entries such as purchase accounting, goodwill, and FCTR. Your technical skills and initiative drive seamless outcomes.
Mentorship and Leadership: Coach junior team members—both technically and interpersonally—while setting high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Reporting Timelines: Interact with subsidiaries, resolve issues, and manage specific business unit reporting areas to meet deadlines and uphold Group standards.
Group-Wide Deliverables: Assist the consolidation manager with HEPS calculations and other non-IFRS metrics for internal and external reporting.
Audit Support: Communicate with external auditors, addressing inquiries and providing detailed reporting insights.
Transactional Projects: Handle ad hoc projects, such as accounting for acquisitions, disposals, and restructurings, ensuring compliance and analyzing impacts on goodwill, FCTR, and intangibles.
End-of-Day Wrap-Up: Conclude your day by reviewing progress and ensuring ongoing projects are aligned for success, leaving a meaningful mark on the Group’s financial operations.

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
- 4-5 years of post-article experience, with multi-currency and multi-national consolidation exposure (Big 4 experience is an advantage)
- Strong technical IFRS knowledge and practical experience in consolidations for global, multi-currency organizations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, explaining complex messages in clear, simple terms
- Experience with financial systems like Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and OneStream is advantageous
