We are recruiting on behalf of our client for two Duty Managers to join the leadership team at a luxury lodge based within a prestigious big 5 game reserve in the Western Cape.
Reporting to the Lodge Manager, the Duty Manager plays a key role in overseeing daily operations across the lodge – from front office and guest services to restaurant management and housekeeping coordination. The ideal candidates are proactive, people-focused, and capable of leading teams, solving problems, and maintaining exceptional service standards in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage front office operations and overall guest experience
Address guest questions, complaints, and service issues promptly and professionally
Supervise staff scheduling, task delegation, and shift management
Ensure seamless coordination of all lodge departments and operations
Monitor team performance and enforce operational standards
Conduct staff training and contribute to performance development
Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and guest readiness
Handle problem-solving and decision-making at a managerial level
Foster service excellence and continuous innovation
Ensure risk and loss prevention protocols are followed
Manage customer relationships and uphold the service brand
Work confidently under pressure and demonstrate resilience in challenging situations
Maintain accurate reporting and communicate clearly with senior management
Proficient use of the PAN Property Management System (or similar)
Salary: R15,000 per month (live-out)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Positions Available: 2
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Front of House, Restaurant, or similar role
Solid managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent spoken and written English
Good computer literacy and reporting skills
Strong understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
Detail-oriented, assertive, and patient with strong organisational skills
Professional, reliable, and service-driven attitude
Previous experience using PAN Property Management System is advantageous
