Reporting to the VP/GM Water Quality MEA, as the General Manager South Africa, you will have the full profit and loss responsibility in South Africa and develop organization capabilities to fulfill corporate objectives on financial performance, talent development & retention, risk management and customer experiences. You will define, develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies to sustain continuous growth in responsible market. You are expected to meet or exceed revenue goals by executing sales initiatives in alignment with regional marketing strategy and will be responsible for leading gross profit and operating margins in the region.

You will ensure quality of work and compliance of all local government laws & regulations, enhance effective communication within operations team and cross functional group to achieve company goals. You will also drive the organization to sustain our level 1 BBB-EE.

This is an onsite role, based out of our offices in Northriding, with travel as required.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement operational and sales strategies to meet company objectives

  • Oversee daily operations & sales activities (direct & indirect), ensuring efficiency and productivity

  • Manage local distributors

  • Lead and mentor teams across operations and sales departments

  • Analyze performance metrics and provide reports to senior management

  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecast sales objectives and operational costs

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and support

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards

  • Document and process controls


The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration (Master's degree preferred)

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior operations and sales role locally (RSA).

  • Industry Experience: 10+ years in (or related to) water industry

  • Leadership and Team Management: with a good ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams toward achieving goals.

  • Strategic Thinking: Crafting and implementing strategies to drive growth and solve complex challenges

  • Communication Skills: Clear and persuasive communication with teams, stakeholders, and customers.

  • Problem-Solving: Identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.

  • Adaptability: Navigating market changes and internal challenges with agility.

  • Customer Focus: Ensuring customer satisfaction and aligning operations with customer needs.

  • Time Management: Balancing multiple responsibilities and priorities effectively.

  • Ability to quickly establish significant credibility, trust and support within all levels of the organization (i.e. peers, subordinates and senior management)

  • Decision-Making: Making sound and timely decisions, often under pressure.

  • Financial Acumen: Preparation and management of the budget, the profit and loss statements, as well as financial planning
