The Role
Unifi is recruiting a new role within its group finance team to assume ownership and responsibility of all execution of treasury operations across the group. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: executing accurately against the defined treasury strategy, liquidity management, reviewing of legal agreements, compliance within lending arrangements, internal and external reporting, continuous operational improvement across all treasury functions, foreign currency exposure risk management and cash forecasting supervision.
The main purpose of the role is to design, build and maintain best of class treasury processes and effectively manage the treasury function of the Unifi group.
The ideal candidate must balance financial diligence with entrepreneurial energy, be analytically adept, and have a passion for African business. A healthy spirit of adventure and sense of humour would be helpful. Flexibility to travel will be required.
Responsibilities
- Develop a tailored treasury strategy and execute thereon;
- Set up Unifi's ALM policies and systems, including tax structuring and reserve levels;
- Group wide liquidity management and cash forecasting oversight;
- Setup, streamline and manage multiple debt programmes;
- Drive fundraising across multiple jurisdictions;
- Planning and pre-emptive actions on payments;
- Reviewing of legal agreements;
- Compliance within lending arrangements;
- Internal and external reporting;
- Continuous operational improvement across all treasury functions;
- Foreign currency exposure risk management;
- Transfer pricing documentation.
- Willingness to get into the detail and out in the hard yards;
- Postgraduate Degree in Commerce, Engineering or similar;
- Corporate treasury experience for 5+ years;
- Lending industry experience not required;
- Flexibility for occasional travel;
- Passion for Africa and willingness to work in the developing world context.
