Main Purpose of Position:This role is responsible to oversee the financial controlling function including the compilation of financial statements, recon reviews, group reporting, implementation of financial controls and other related activities for all entitiesKey Performance Areas:Effective Management of the Finance Department Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).Lead the budgeting and forecasting process and provide analysis of variances.Manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial laws.Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.Improve financial processes, systems, and reporting tools for greater efficiency and accuracy.Support strategic planning and business decision-making with financial insight and analysis.ReportingPlanning of month end/year endPrepare month-end journals Prepare and review reliable and accurate reports for the companyOverview of all GL Recons done by Finance TeamMeeting deadlines on submission of internal and external reportsAdherence to Group Financial ControlsMaintain payments for ClaimsPrepare and submit statutory ReturnsHandle all queries from SARSPrepare Ad-hoc reports Staff Management and DevelopmentAll team members have clearly defined job profiles aligned to the profile of the managerEnsure performance contracts are in place and regular goal reviews completed to assess achievement of resultsProvide support, training and mentoring continuously to ensure that objectives are metEnsure completed development plans for each employeeEnsure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the informationHealth and SafetyParticipate in the design/development/review/implementation and monitoring of the region safety plans for each yearParticipate in safety forums created by company Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplaceDistribute safety information as and when required
