Join AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer, one of South Africa's leading providers of industrial pumping equipment and solutions. We're looking for an Industrial Sales Representative to drive growth in our Industrial Pump Division, servicing key sectors like water treatment, food and beverage, and general manufacturing.


What you'll do:

  • Promotes, sells and secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting the best product suited to their needs.
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers. 
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of customer.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers/ customers etc.
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature provided.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses 
  • Forecasts monthly, quarterly and annual sales per customer per product range.
  • Monitors own sales progress in relation to the forecasted target and provide feedback to Sales Manager.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Conducts customer specific research to determine customer potential per product category and sales potential.
  • Prepares and participate in monthly Selling by Objectives (SbO) meetings with Sales Manager to review activities and results for the previous period and plan activities and discuss required results for the following period.
  • Follow up on activities as discussed in the SbO meetings and provide feedback to the Sales Manager.
  • Continuously increases own call effectiveness through a focused quantity, quality and direction approach to selling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Follow up on quotations completed on a regular basis.
  • Continuously follow up on outstanding orders to ensure that no order will be outstanding for longer than the targeted time.
  • Assists the Marketing and Sales Department with customer specific research to determine customer potential per product category.
  • Continuously improves own product and industry knowledge.
  • Ensures that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Standard in the department.


What we're looking for:

  • 3–5+ years of sales experience in industrial equipment, mechanical components, or capital goods.
  • Strong technical knowledge (preferably with pumps, valves, flow meters, or similar equipment).
  • Proven track record in sales with strong pipeline and territory management skills.
  • Able to interpret technical specs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and customer-centric.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.
  • Bonus: Mechanical/Process Engineering qualification or experience with pump servicing.
