Strategic Account Manager, General Specialty: Renewables Energy

We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager specializing in Renewable Energy and Construction to drive strategic client relationships and innovative solutions in the energy sector to service and grow our existing Renewable Energy portfolio and provide technical expertise to less experienced employees.
What The Day Will Look Like
Lead and strengthen strategic client relationships.
Present insights on the Renewable Energy landscape, market status, and detailed coverage reviews to clients at executive and board levels.
Develop comprehensive client profiles, including risk and needs analysis for client portfolios.
Drive and manage the renewal process, including document preparation, client meetings, and market negotiations. Structure the client service model to provide ongoing advice and recommendations throughout the renewal cycle.
Design insurance programs tailored to the needs of Renewable Energy portfolio clients, ensuring alignment with lender agreements and obligations.
Produce client documentation, lead or contribute to renewal meetings, and negotiate fees.
Improve client satisfaction, retention, revenue, and profitability.
Ensure compliance in client interactions.
Contribute to new business / expanded business opportunities collaborating with colleagues in Specialty and across Aon to bring the best of Aon to develop solutions for new and existing clients through the provision of technical risk advisory and insurance services
Create and supply ideas for growth initiatives across the team
Working and collaborating with the Global, Regional, Country Management Teams and Aon Service Teams to deliver the widest practical range of insurance solutions and services available from Aon to the Renewable Energy and Natural Resources client base and to improve opportunities for cross selling across the Aon solutions, applying expert knowledge and experience to enhance current and future growth opportunities
Responsibility for the delivery of uniformed discipline around work in progress, new business pipelines and process delivery and general renewal process per portfolio
Maintaining strong relationships with clients, projects and prospects and professional associations including the servicing of existing, new and expanded business opportunities, renewals and mid-term amendments
Supporting claims administration, management and advocacy wherever needed
Identifying and keeping up to date with Sector trends relative to Renewable Energy and Natural Resources clients and prospects
Delivering best practice though the utilisation of various Aon Systems including, Compliance and Transparency Standards and Protocols, sales and accounting systems, and the Natural Resources value proposition
Ensure that all client services and solutions are in compliance with regulations and Aon Company Policy and Guidelines

Knowledge
- Strong understanding of renewable energy and related insurance products
- Extensive insurance experience, including multinational placements.
- Excellent understanding of policy wordings.
- Extensive knowledge of South African and international short-term insurance markets.
- Strategic understanding of industry and business strategies and company goals.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Aon Connect
- Minimum requirement Grade 12 or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Registration as a representative with the FSCA under the FAIS Act.
- Registration as an associate with the IISA.
- 10-15 years of proven experience in a similar client service or related role.
- Previous experience in the energy insurance sector and client account management preferred.
- Some previous experience with sales would be beneficial.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
- Self-disciplined, organized, with attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
