The Role

The Regional Account Director for Power Protection is accountable for setting and executing strategic direction across major regional and global Hyperscale, Colocation, and Enterprise accounts. The objective is to address customer requirements while safeguarding and expanding ABB’s Electrification portfolio. This includes achieving growth targets through both new customer acquisition and the development of existing relationships. In addition to individual sales responsibilities, the role necessitates extensive collaboration across the organization to ensure effective demand generation, strategic alignment, successful deal closure, and sustained customer satisfaction. A comprehensive understanding of the business models employed by ABB’s Power Protection clientele is essential.

This position requires demonstrated leadership, substantial experience in managing large-scale accounts, and exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders both within and outside the organization.

Location

This role is open in locations such as the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The work model is hybrid .

Your Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and execution of strategic account plans and growth initiatives, including Statements of Work (SoW), to drive long-term customer value.
  • Analyzes key business drivers and emerging risks (e.g., sustainability, digitalization, cybersecurity) to identify opportunities and align ABB’s offerings with customer needs.
  • Defines and monitors sales targets, ensuring alignment across divisions and geographies through structured follow-up and performance tracking.
  • Drives a coordinated sales approach, enhancing customer value through strategic planning, issue resolution, and the promotion of ABB’s full portfolio.
  • Utilizes standardized tools and processes (e.g., Salesforce, account plans) while monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.

Your Qualifications

  • Advanced academic background in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • Over 20 years of experience in the data center sector, with deep expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, including switchgear, UPS, power and building management systems.
  • Extensive industry network across EMEA and APAC, with a proven record of managing global and regional accounts.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional influence, with experience navigating matrix organizations and driving change.
  • Fluent in English, with a solid understanding of mission-critical environments and processes such as tendering, commissioning, and project execution.
