Overall Purpose of the Job responsibilities are:


This position will manage and maintain a sustainable, systematic approach to purchasing across all ADvTECH brands so as to contribute to optimizing this part of the supply chain. To oversee the full procurement cycle, ensuring efficient acquisition of goods and services. It will proactively support the Procure to Pay Lead in driving ongoing standardization, change, and continuous improvement within operational accounting and transactional processing across the ADvTECH Group

Procurement Management


  • Implement the group procurement strategy in line with objectives set by the Procure to Pay Lead.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve procurement strategy and operational efficiency.
  • Operationalize and maintain central procurement services, systems, control frameworks, and compliance with policies and industry legislation.
  • Analyze procurement data to develop category plans and propose cost-saving methodologies.
  • Oversee daily procurement operations, ensuring compliance with procurement policy and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive procurement documentation and records from initiation to completion.
  • Recommend policy and procedure enhancements to ensure compliance and process success.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure effective and timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Lead, train, and supervise purchasing clerks, ensuring team capability and compliance.
  • Review and monitor capital purchases for policy compliance.
  • Compile accurate reports and maintain a reliable spend analysis database.
  • Continuously improve purchasing methods and processes.
  • Provide necessary training to procurement team members to support business needs.
  • Lead, train, and supervise purchasing clerks, ensuring team capability and compliance.
  • Review and monitor capital purchases for policy compliance.
  • Integrate best practices and market research to secure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier rationalization and manage the transition to a more efficient supplier base.
  • Establish and review processes for all contracts, supplies, and suppliers to maximize value for money, including the development of an Approved Supplier List.
  • Drive improvements in the company’s BBBEE scorecard, calculate spend, and prepare for annual audits.
  • Engage with business units to identify procurement priorities and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Set and monitor annual procurement savings targets in conjunction with business objectives.
Supplier Management
  • Identify and source suppliers that meet ADvTECH’s requirements.
  • Ensure suppliers deliver goods and services as per agreed standards of price through benchmarking exercises.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure value for money and high service satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement supplier consolidation opportunities for efficiency.

Contract Management Alignment
  • Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to evaluate tender proposals and select suppliers in line with internal policy.
  • Review existing contracts with the Contracts Manager to identify opportunities for improved value for money.
  • Provide inputs to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Contracts Manager to manage supplier performance
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build & maintain strong customer relations with internal customers in the respective Brands and with vendors/ suppliers
  • Handle customer complaints and lead the provision of support to customer and vendors
  • Monitor queries logged on Freshdesk and ensures the satisfactory resolution of these
  • Identify training & development needs amongst Brand and GSS staff on procurement policies and procedures
  • Initiate the provision of the required training, as appropriate

Education (Formal Qualification required)
Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain and Operations / MCIPS / equivalent)
