Job Purpose:
To assist the production and quality assurance team with device calibration and setup as well as various technical tasks required for production Assist with research and design on new projects and with basic product development tasks.

Minimum education (essential):
Grade 12

Minimum education (desirable):
Relevant technical Certificate

Minimum applicable experience (years):
3 - 5 years

Required nature of experience:
  • Manufacturing or IT environment
  • Research and Development
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding
  • Headphone calibration or servicing of hardware devices

Production 20%
  • Set up demo devices (hardware and software) as required for demo or test purposes.
  • Fix and maintain damaged devices.
  • Perform Kiosk maintenance and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Assist the team as and when needed with technical queries and support.
  • Execute new initiatives to improve production/manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Find solutions to problems with existing devices.
  • Manufacture and assemble DAC’s.
  • Test and diagnose PCB’s.
  • Perform devices’ rework and repairs.
Calibration 20%
  • Conduct smartphone setup and updates.
  • Conduct headphone calibration.
  • Complete quality checks.
  • Conduct device standardisations.
  • Ensure calibration and measuring equipment is calibrated annually.
  • Assist developers with testing software on the devices.
  • Give training to the other calibration partners for onboarding or updates.
  • Assist with OS rollbacks and flashing devices.
  • Assist with hearOAE calibration of probes.
Order Fulfillment 10%
  • Continuously update stock and order sheet (PUR sheet) of allocated sections.
  • Proactively communicate with the sales team to ensure accurate and real time communication with clients about open orders.
  • Ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and within the promised lead times.
  • Upload the Batch manufacturing, Servicing records and hearScope quality check reports onto the G-drive on the same day as the orders are completed.
  • Communicate and support calibration partners with queries and order fulfillment.
Research and Development 40%
  • Research manufacturing related subjects.
  • Assist with product development and improvement of new and existing devices.
  • Assist with 3D printing tasks as and when required.
  • Resolve hardware abnormalities with mechanical insight.
  • Assist in mechanical design and preparation of technical drawings
  • Research internal software components
  • Assist with electronic design and PCB layout
  • Develop high-quality manufacturing systems and processes for new products, including hardware and software tools, as well as procedures.
  • Support the continuous improvement and streamlining of existing processes within the manufacturing division.
QMS 10%
  • Ensure that QMS guidelines are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all supporting documents are kept to date.
  • Ensure that all processes are kept relevant.
  • Complete calibration and servicing tasks in accordance with the relevant QMS processes.
  • Adhere to work environment and contamination control.
  • Adhere to packaging and labeling specifications.
  • Adhere to control of monitoring and measuring equipment.
  • Adhere to DAC & Codec manufacturing and quality control
  • Ensure compliance records are kept up to date.
  • Maintain the Standardization Register.
  • Maintain the Calibration and Maintenance Register.
  • Maintain the Product Non-conformance Register.
