Key Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, level sensors, etc.).
Perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance on instrumentation systems.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment in the workshop and on-site.
Maintain and update instrument loop drawings and maintenance records.
Assist in commissioning new systems or modifications to existing systems.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment performance.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and mine regulations (MHSA, OHS).
Use diagnostic tools such as HART communicators, multimeters, loop calibrators, etc.
Provide technical support for PLC/DCS and SCADA system interfaces.
Conduct root cause analysis of instrument failures and document solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma or Trade Test (Red Seal) in Instrumentation.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Instrument Technician in a mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
Knowledge of process control systems , instrumentation standards , and loop tuning .
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
Valid Driver’s License and own reliable transport.
Must be willing to work overtime and be available for standby or call-outs when required.
Advantageous:
Exposure to hazardous area instrumentation and IS (intrinsically safe) devices.
Basic understanding of automation and control systems integration.
Exposure to mining-specific instrumentation (e.g., tailings management, dust suppression systems, slurry flow monitoring).
Competencies:
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Time management and prioritization skills under pressure.
More than 10 Years
