Job Purpose
To oversee and coordinate all warehouse and transport operations at the site, ensuring effective inventory and cross dock control, on-time delivery, vehicle utilisation, and compliance with health and safety standards. The role is critical in ensuring efficient end-to-end logistics operations that meet service, cost, and compliance objectives.

The role is critical in ensuring efficient end-to-end logistics operations that meet service, cost, and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Execution
- Implement best practices in warehouse and transport to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure continuous improvement across both functions to achieve operational targets.
- Manage warehouse layout, receiving, checking, loading and housekeeping.
- Maintain stock accuracy, inventory levels and capacity planning.
- Oversee returns, transfers, and SAP-related system checks.
- Ensure timely dispatch of orders in alignment with customer delivery schedules.
- Manage daily fleet scheduling, driver checklists and job cards.
- Monitor driver and vehicle performance using telematics and exception reports.
- Resolve daily transport-related issues and ensure optimal vehicle utilization.
- Track maintenance schedules, ensure timely repairs, and control fleet-related costs.
- Monitor truck maintenance, fuel usage, and control of workshop activities.
- Ensure compliance with service standards and record-keeping for audits.
- Conduct daily and monthly inspections (forklifts, trucks, lighting, facility).
- Ensure ISO, SHERQ, food safety, and traffic legislation compliance.
- Investigate incidents (accidents, hijackings, IODs) and implement controls.
- Oversee the accurate and timeous processing of all stock movements.
- Audit billing reports and inventory control documents.
- Provide detailed operational and financial reports to management.
- Lead, coach and manage performance of warehouse and transport teams.
- Facilitate regular meetings, address issues and ensure communication flows.
- Monitor performance using both soft and hard metric systems.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job
- National Diploma in Logistics, Transport or Fleet Management.
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
