Sanlam Alternative Investments (SAI)

What will you do?

The Alternative Investments Fund Accountant is responsible for executing the investment payaway process, client cashflows, fund financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and overseeing compliance related to alternative investment portfolios. This role involves collaboration with portfolio managers, auditors, external service providers, investment parties and regulatory bodies to maintain transparency and meet reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have a strong understanding of various alternative investment vehicles, including private equity, private credit and real estate, to effectively track performance and valuation.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in accounting standards are essential for maintaining accurate and timely financial statements, fee recoveries and investment performance calculations.
  • Executing the investment process of pay away, interest calculations and accurate client record updating with stakeholders
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry’s best practices to ensure all financial activities adhere to legal standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication are vital for explaining complex financial data to stakeholders and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Safeguarding the integrity of financial information, enabling informed investment decisions and fostering trust among investors.
  • Continuous professional development and adaptability to evolving market conditions are key to excelling in this dynamic position.
