We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Test Analyst to join our team in Cape Town (hybrid).

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in both manual and automation testing, coupled with solid technical skills and a background in the insurance domain. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to quality delivery within an Agile environment, working with modern tools and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing.
• Execute tests, document results, and report defects using appropriate tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Maintain and enhance automated test frameworks and scripts (Selenium, Maven).
• Work with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, XRAY) for test management and continuous integration.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
• Assist in implementing testing best practices and promoting quality standards within the team.
• Leverage knowledge of AWS cloud services in test planning and execution.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve system quality and user experience.
  
  

Qualifications

• Relevant IT qualification.
• ISTQB Certification
  
  

Essential Skills

• Strong experience with Selenium for test automation.
• Solid understanding of Maven for build and dependency management.
• Knowledge of scripting and programming languages for test automation and custom utilities.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, XRAY).
  
  

Desired Skills

• Appian platform knowledge or experience.
• Broader automation experience beyond Selenium (e.g. API testing tools).
• Performance or security testing exposure.
  
  

Experience

• 3 - 5 years of experience in software testing (manual and automation).
• Experience in the insurance sector (short-term or life insurance) highly desirable.
• Appian experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
