R17 Ventures is a performance marketing agency based at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, with a Swiss-based parent company. We help brands grow fast online - using data, smart tech, and sharp design.

We’re looking for a Shopify Developer who not only builds great e-commerce stores but thinks AI-first - to improve everything from design to deployment.

• Build and manage websites and landing pages - mainly in Shopify, but also Webflow and Hubspot.
• Set up all parts of a Shopify store - including shipping logic, meta fields, filters, and more.
• Automate wherever possible: use AI tools (like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Midjourney, Make, etc.) to speed up work or improve outcomes.
• Add and manage tracking via GA4 and Google Tag Manager
• Collaborate with the marketing team to understand advertising requirements and translate them into functional and visually appealing web solutions.
• Improve site speed, UX, and conversions through CRO strategies.
• Keep things running smoothly: fix bugs, push updates, and optimize code.

• No degree needed - just a few years of experience or a portfolio that proves you know your stuff.
• Strong front-end dev skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Deep Shopify knowledge - especially with Liquid and backend logic.
• Familiar with Webflow, Hubspot, GA4, and GTM.
• You know how to use AI tools to get more done, faster (and you’re not afraid to experiment).
• Good visual instinct - you know what looks clean, modern, and on-brand.
• You work independently, think clearly, and care about quality.
