Babylonstoren is seeking a dynamic and well-organised Production Buyer to strengthen our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing purchasing and product availability for various production departments.

Requirements

• A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12)
• A qualification in supply chain management would be advantageous
• Fluency in Afrikaans and English
• Valid Code 8 driving licence
• Well-organised and self-motivated individual
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the supply of fresh ingredients, packaging and other materials
• Ensure timely and adequate availability of all materials for uninterrupted production
• Liaise with production and inventory teams for accurate needs assessment
• Develop and implement forecasting and planning models
• Optimise the purchasing schedule in line with production demands and stock levels
• Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, quality standards and delivery timelines
• Track orders and ensure deliveries are accurate and on time
• Communicate effectively with internal departments to support a smooth and coordinated workflow
