Summary:

Ember Education is seeking academically strong and motivated students from Stellenbosch University in the faculties of Science, Engineering, and EMS to join our team of part-time remote tutors. As a tutor, you’ll play a key role in helping learners reach their full potential through personalised academic support.

1. Delivering engaging, clear, and empathetic tutoring sessions
2. Helping students gain confidence and improve academically
3. Managing your tutoring responsibilities professionally and consistently
4. Communicating effectively with both students and the Ember team

This role is central to our mission of making high-quality tutoring accessible, while also providing leadership and development opportunities for talented university students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-on-1 or small group tutoring sessions remotely
• Support students with difficult concepts and exam preparation
• Create a welcoming, respectful, and positive learning environment
• Manage your tutoring schedule responsibly and maintain punctuality
• Attend online training

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled at Stellenbosch University in Science, Engineering, or EMS
• Minimum 70% average in the subjects/modules you wish to tutor
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Comfortable working online with access to stable internet and a quiet space
• Passionate about education and helping others succeed
• Prior tutoring or mentoring experience is a bonus, not a requirement
