We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Sales Manager to lead and inspire our sales team in delivering unforgettable luxury safari experiences. You will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, ensuring the highest standards of client service, and mentoring our team of expert travel consultants.

Your role bridges sales performance, client experience, compliance and team development — all of which contribute to cementing Rhino Africa’s position as a market leader in luxury safari travel.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, motivate, and coach a sales team to achieve individual and departmental revenue targets
  • Monitor team and individual performance, providing regular feedback, guidance, and development plans
  • Identify knowledge gaps and growth opportunities to continually upskill the team
  • Oversee the achievement of preferred supplier agreements and departmental strategic goals
  • Drive repeat business and referral programmes to maximise client loyalty
  • Ensure best practices, processes and procedures are maintained, documented and optimised
  • Prepare and analyse sales reports, identifying trends and performance insights
  • Foster a positive team culture aligned with Rhino Africa’s values and mission
  • Manage team scheduling, leave cycles, and operational capacity to ensure seamless operations
  • Serve as the first escalation point for client or supplier service issues
  • Oversee all administrative functions including payments, reporting, and documentation
  • Maintain the integrity of the client journey, from initial contact to post-travel feedback
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to support training, inspections, lead management, and content creation
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports to the Head of Sales

Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Diploma in Travel and Tourism
  • Based in Cape Town
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven success in a Sales Management role within the Travel & Tourism industry
  • High level of client-centricity with a passion for exceptional service
  • Outstanding people management, leadership, and team development skills
  • Strong communication abilities with a talent for building relationships
  • Results-driven with analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

Not Essential But Advantageous

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Travel and Tourism
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Budget management experience
