Operations Supervisor

Description
This role is responsible for ensuring that operations operates efficiently, effectively and at appropriate capacity levels, whilst maintaining appropriate levels of quality relating to product and service
Responsibilities
- Controls vehicle movements into and out of the site, as well as the safe parking into allocated bays.
- Ensures the adherence to site SOP’s during the loading and off-loading of all vehicles
- Ensures that loading and off-loading times, in addition to health and safety standards are always maintained
- Perform regular job observations
- Actively promotes the Group goal of continuous improvement by recommending changes to SOP’s to the benefit of the business when noted
- Ensures that all product transfers and tank dips are strictly controlled and 100% accurate
- Ensures that written instructions are completed for every stock movement and distributed timeously to the correct department.
- Performs regular checks on the effluent system, grease trap and other drains
- Ensure loading bays are thoroughly cleaned before close of business daily
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums and attend relevant training/programmes
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Comply with safety policies and procedures
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
Employee management and development
- Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies
- Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles
- Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results
- Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
- Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
- Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements
Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience
- Technical understanding and experience in the operational and maintenance environment recommended
