Environmental Responsibilities
Monitor environmental compliance (air, water, waste)
Lead GHG inventory (Scopes 1, 2, 3)
Drive resource efficiency and circular economy initiatives
Social Responsibilities
Implement DEI strategies and employee wellbeing programs
Facilitate community development and social impact assessments
Engage with local stakeholders and civil society
Governance Responsibilities
Develop ESG governance frameworks and ethics policies
Ensure alignment with ISO 26000, King IV, and anti-corruption measures
Coordinate board-level ESG reporting
ESG Reporting and Disclosure
Lead GRI, SASB, CDP, and TCFD-aligned reporting
Support NASDAQ and FSCA regulatory disclosures
Build ESG dashboards and performance insights
Educational Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Engineering, or related
Preferred: Honours/Master’s in ESG, Environmental Management, or Corporate Governance
Additional Certifications (Highly Advantageous)
ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
GRI Certified Training
SASB, TCFD, CDP

Professional Experience
5–7+ years in ESG/sustainability in energy, nuclear, or manufacturing sectors
Experience with GHG accounting, ESG compliance, stakeholder engagement, and strategy execution

Reporting Structure and Interfaces:
Direct Reporting Line
Reports to: Head of HSE (Section 16(2) Appointee)
Provides strategic ESG oversight within HSE governance
Internal Collaboration
Exec Team: CEO, COO, CFO, CTO – ESG briefings, KPIs
HSE Team: Safety, Fire, Hygiene, IMS – ISO 14001 integration
Legal & Compliance: Governance, regulatory reporting
HR & DEI: Culture, ethics, wellbeing
Finance & IR: ESG-linked disclosures, investor engagement
Engineering & Ops: Process improvement, innovation integration
IT: Data infrastructure, ESG dashboards
Group-Level Interfaces
Collaborates with ESG Leads in QLE, PET Labs, and Renergen
Participates in ESG Steering Committees, harmonization forums
External Stakeholders
DFFE, NNR, DMRE
NASDAQ, FSCA

Communities, NGOs, third-party auditors
Working Conditions & Travel:
Base: ASPI HQ, Pretoria
Environments: Office, labs, isotope enrichment sites, community visits
Work Schedule: Standard hours; extended/flexible during audits or events
Travel: 20–30% local; occasional national/international
