Main Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program that aligns with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Work directly with the Cyber Security Committee and Business Units to facilitate risk assessment and risk management processes, ensuring that security measures support business operations and growth.
  • Identify, develop, and implement information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to protect the organization's digital assets.
  • Coordinate with technology and business groups to assess, implement, and monitor IT-related security risks and hazards.
  • Serve as the project manager for major cyber security enhancement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Oversee incident response planning and the investigation of security breaches, working closely with service providers and internal teams.
  • Provide monthly reporting on the current status of the information security program to the Cyber Security Committee and yearly to the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with changing laws and applicable regulations and manage relationships with regulatory bodies (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).



Qualifications And Competencies


  • BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Cyber Security Advisor/CISO or similar senior role
  • Extensive technical knowledge of IT/OT and experience with IT risk management, threat modeling, and design reviews
  • Proficiency in information security domains, including policies and procedures, risk management, compliance, and incident response
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, IEC62443, etc.)
  • Good understanding of network, server infrastructure, and cloud technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with executive leadership
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies
