The role of Ambassador in the in the Core Diagnostics Division in South Africa, based in the Gauteng, provides diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
In this role , The Ambassador is responsible for managing and expanding existing accounts, managing and improving customer relationships, improving profitability of accounts, and handling first line application support

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities.
Strategic Growth & Execution
- Develop and execute a territory-level Strategic Growth Plan.
- Leverage MyDASH CRM to maintain accurate, up-to-date client data.
- Drive account growth by closing menu gaps, promoting DHS, and renewing service contracts.
- Conduct quarterly Client Business Reviews to align on goals and performance.
- Act as the primary Abbott contact for all client needs, including product inquiries and support.
- Collaborate with clients weekly to enhance business processes using global CRDx frameworks.
- Support early renewal efforts to block competition and secure long-term partnerships.
- Maximize instrument utilization and identify inefficiencies.
- Analyze test menus and ordering patterns to recommend tailored solutions.
- Confidently operate and support Alinity instruments, including assay installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Consult with clients to improve KPIs and operational performance.
- Maintain high NPS scores and address feedback proactively.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders: Lab Directors, Supervisors, Procurement, IT, and Medical Directors.
- Lead educational workshops, client presentations, and integration activities.
- National Diploma or BSc Degree in Medical Technology or Health Science Related.
- 3-5 years track record in the diagnostic industry either in a commercial Sales role ( preferrable) OR within a diagnostics Lab environment managing and improving customer relationships.
- Excellent product and industry knowledge.
- Must be passionate and a self- motivated
- Strong understanding of key stakeholders and customer dynamics
- Must be able to work within a TEAM concept
- Strong solution selling and relationship building skills
- Excellent sales analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues
- Long-term, strategic focus on account
- The position requires the willingness to travel on frequent basis, i.e. on average three – four days per week.
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s licenses
