The Role: Human Capital Manager

We’re looking for an exceptional Human Capital Manager to drive our Human Capital initiatives, develop our talented workforce, and shape the future of our organization. As Human Capital Manager, you will be at the heart of our mission to build a sustainable, diverse, and high-performance workforce. You will drive our people strategy, work closely with leadership, and ensure that every individual at Farm Foods is empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Talent Acquisition & Development: In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Team, lead the recruitment process aligned with seasonal demands
• Employee Engagement & Culture: Build a vibrant company culture that inspires collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
• Performance Management: Establish performance metrics, coach leaders on effective feedback practices, and drive a culture of accountability while supporting employees in their development journeys.
• Strategic Workforce Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to anticipate and address future workforce needs, making sure we have the right people, in the right roles, at the right time.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with local and national labor laws, and create policies that promote a safe, fair, and inclusive working environment. Develop and implement HR strategies that support productivity and compliance with labour laws (including BCEA, OHSA, and LRA)
• HR Analytics & Reporting: Use data and insights to continuously improve our human capital strategy and make informed, evidence-based decisions.
• Lead all Human Capital (HC) operations across multiple agricultural sites
• Partner with leadership to shape organizational development and succession planning

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need more than just HR expertise—you’ll need a strategic mindset, a passion for leadership, and a drive to make a difference. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Experience: A proven track record in HR management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in an agriculture industry.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related fields
• Skills & Expertise:
• • Strong understanding of South African labour laws and HR best practices
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership in a multi-site, diverse workforce environment
  • Expertise in HR systems and analytics, with the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making.
  • Experience in change management, conflict resolution, and leadership development.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with an ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
• Willingness to be based in and travel regularly within the Northern Cape
