General Assistant

Description

The main responsibility of this position is to keep the production plant area clean according to the Food Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• 
  Connect lines as per operator instructions.
• Handling of tonsil and carbon
• Sampling of crude and final oils.
• Capture on the lab system for analyses.
• Assist in making blends.
• Measuring of crude and final oil tanks.
• Replace filter bags.
• Report deviations in filter bags to the refinery operator/Production Manager
• Report all defects on plant to the refinery operator/Production Manager
• Clean filters by using scrapers.
• Remove disposed tonsil from plate and frame filters to skids, empty trollies by use of spade.
• Housekeeping: Cleaning of all plant equipment, plant area and walkways.

• Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
• Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives

• Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
• Attend safety education and refresher programmes
• Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
• Distribute safety information as and when required
• Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Production plant experience
