Overview

The RISE South Africa Project supports the strengthening of integrated health systems with a strong focus on vaccine readiness, surveillance, and emergency response. Implemented in partnership with the National Department of Health, the project aims to enhance early warning and surveillance systems by rolling out Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR), Event-Based Surveillance (EBS), and Community-Based Surveillance (CEBS). These efforts are designed to improve the country’s ability to detect and respond to public health threats in a timely and coordinated manner. RISE further supports outbreak response by strengthening IDSR implementation at all levels, including capacity building for contact tracing, case investigation, and the use of standard operating procedures.
