Kumba Iron Ore
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

Job Description
As our Specialist Integrated Reporting your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Consistently apply Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Function as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health for the site are paramount.
- Encourage reporting of unsafe behaviour without fear of reprisal.
- Embed critical controls into daily work practices.
- Maintain systems for annual reporting and compile an Integrated and Sustainable Development (SD) report that aligns with statutory and Board requirements.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders engaged in Integrated and External Reporting cycles, including Board members.
- Ensure the seamless execution of annual reporting processes within specified timetables.
- Prepare detailed and high-quality instructions tailored to stakeholders involved in the reporting process.
- Uphold benchmark quality standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives in Integrated and External Reporting.
- Compile and collate input for site reporting, including Quarterly Production and Sales Reports, Interim and year-end press releases, and the annual report.
- Collect inputs for Kumba Reporting from sites, ensuring an effective interface with Investor Relations.
- Maintain, collate, and source data for performance reporting for Investor Relations on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
- Maintain an effective and efficient interface with Investor Relations in the context of ESG reporting.
- Adhere to accurate reporting principles within agreed-upon time limits for all financial reporting activities.
- Represent the company on Pension and Provident Boards as required, contributing financial expertise to these governance structures.
- Maintain and execute the JSE controls attestations requirement and related Risk and Control Matrix to ensure compliance within the function.
- Function as the business owner for Wdesk and WData, maintaining change management processes related to these tools for financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Relevant Finance degree (e.g., B. Com)
- Postgraduate qualification (CA/CIMA)
- SA Drivers Licence
- Proven experience in a financial analysis role in a large company.
- Experience analysing and benchmarking financial/business data, operational efficiencies, and value chains.
- Working knowledge of financial consolidation systems.
- Understanding of complex commercial and technical accounting issues.
- Operational experience in the preparation of performance reporting.
- Operational experience in the mining industry.
- Awareness of significant technical accounting issues that may impact Kumba, e.g. deferred stripping.
